Before we talk about Food ...how does one make lasting changes?

Welcome to my first installment of
    "Food Talk with Fred".

Yes you have guessed it. I am Fred!

Why is my name a bit slanted? Well it just looks that way because you may not be getting enough Whole Foods in your diet!

Now this Blog is about F-O-O-D! Right?

Well before we get into that topic, we need to begin with the basics..PRIMARY FOOD!

What is Primary Food?

Everything we consider as a source of nutrition is really just a secondary source of nourishment.
The foods you eat are secondary to all the other things that feed you—your relationships, career, spirituality, and exercise routine. Those are the things we call primary foods.
So now back to the subject at handHow do we begin to change our lives? (Let alone the food we eat on a daily basis?)
This has been a fundamental question for mankind throughout the ages. Change?-how do we do it? How does real lasting change occur? How do we break our patterns? We all have our gurus. Some listen to motivational tapes, some do meditation, yoga or breath work. We attend retreats, we get massages, we go to church. Some may just be so invested in our inertia and do absolutely nothing about it.
We have all attempted many of these things or absolutely nothing at all. If we do not change our behaviors, our ideas, and begin questioning why we do the things we do we will never take that first step on the road to health! True lasting health takes work. It takes commitment and discipline.
Our diet is one of the last things to change.
We need to begin by listening to our bodies! What does our body need? What feeds our soul? What motivates us? What are our passions?
The Wisdom of Your Body is the Key to Health!
Let me repeat...
The Wisdom of Your Body is the Key to Health!
The Wisdom of Your Body is the Key to Health!
The Wisdom of Your Body is the Key to Health!

Your body needs only a few things. It needs to sleep, to eat right, to breathe, to move and to have peace with life (people, places, self, things). Your body will tell you when one of these areas needs attention. Listen!

It takes time and practice to learn how to listen to your body.

We are just getting started.....Stay tuned...
